No, however you should be aware of recent legislation which has introduced an annual taxable imputed distribution applied to the value of assets in Approved Retirement funds. This is being phased in over three years, meaning income tax is due on a deemed withdrawal* of 1% of the fund on 31 st December 2007, 2% of the fund on 31 st December 2008 and 3% thereafter.
Any actual distributions from the ARF during the year will be deducted from the imputed distribution for that year. Both actual withdrawals and imputed distributions will be taxed at the individuals marginal income tax rate.
* Deemed withdrawal: Amount assumed to be taken out of your fund by you.
